& Fakhair Spence
The Joint, 471 Mytle Avenue
Brooklyn, New York

SHIRLEY is at the intersection of a literary reading and a social movement.
We’re at the corner where art meets activism. In our house, poetry shares a room with protest and
there’s always a dance party going on.

Belladonna promotes the work of women writers who are adventurous, experimental, politically involved, multi-form,
multicultural, multi-gendered, impossible to define, delicious to talk about, unpredictable and dangerous with language.
Join us for a night of readings, experiments, lessons, music, and communion. Consider it a block party for the literary adventurist in you.
